Siyang, one of the famous specialties, has a long history and strong local characteristics. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period, Confucius went from Lu to Wu to give lectures. He passed by today's Eight Episodes. Local students were famous for retaining Confucius to give lectures. Some students sent dried meat and some local peanuts. After Confucius tasted peanuts, he repeatedly praised: "If this fruit is small, eating can live forever." After Confucius left, people named the place where he gave lectures "Xuecheng", built a house and set up a memorial tablet. The native peanut he praised was named "Changsheng Fruit". Most of the land in Baji Township belongs to sandy loam, with large temperature difference between day and night. The grown peanuts have thin shells, tender meat and high oil content, with oil content as high as 40%-43%, and are rich in trace elements such as calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc. After frying, Baji small peanut has the characteristics of white, fragrant, sweet and crisp, and has a good taste, which can be called the top grade for gifts to relatives and friends.
