Peach carving

Taodiao Siyang was called Taoyuan County in ancient times. There are taoyuan town, Taoyuan Beach, Taoyuan Temple and Champion Pier in the county. There are peach trees on the top and bottom of the champion pier, and they are full of fire in the flowering season. There is a poem praising, "In the past few years, Huai has been the champion pier, and the peach blossoms outside the pier are not counted as villages. There is still room for me to avoid Qin, and I would like to knock Chai Men from the flowers. " Farmers in Siyang have always liked to plant peach trees, flowers can be seen, fruits can be eaten, and peach pits can be carved into works of art to sell money. According to local customs, peach trees can "ward off evil spirits", and there is a saying that "there are three peaches at home, and they are not afraid of the howling of wild ghosts". In ancient times, Yundu on the Linhe River was close to taoyuan town, where there were many peach trees and the skill of peach carving was higher. In the slack season, we use peach stone carving to carve peach baskets, peach locks, peach monkeys and other handicrafts, and go out to sell money to make up for our family. Yundu Peach Carving has a history of more than 300 years, but it was in bred in an inner chamber, with no one knowing her. It was not until the 1970s that it was discovered by the Ministry of Foreign Trade. Experts were invited to work with local old artists to develop various artistic shapes, such as the Zodiac, the Eighteen Arhats, the monkey's back fish, the panda eating bamboo and so on, which were deeply loved by domestic and foreign tourists.
