The water area of Hongze Lake in Zhongyang Town is 150,000 mu, with dense river network, clear water quality and abundant aquatic plants, which is very suitable for aquaculture. At present, the area of the town's freshwater shrimp breeding base has reached more than 20,000 mu, and the average annual output of freshwater shrimp in ponds is 80 kg, with an average benefit of 2,300 yuan, and the average annual output of freshwater shrimp in ponds is 10 kg, which increases the benefit of 400 yuan. As early as 2008, the "Zhongyang" brand freshwater shrimp and river crab registered in this town passed the certification of the origin of pollution-free aquatic products by the Ministry of Agriculture, among which "Zhongyang" brand freshwater shrimp won the title of "Jiangsu Famous Brand Product", and the products sold well in Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and other places.
