Song Dynasty is an important turning point of Yangzhou embroidery, that is, from the embroidered Buddha statue in Tang Dynasty to embroidered calligraphy and painting, from practicality to appreciation. The embroidered articles are fine in needle and thread, beautiful in color and full of life interest. At that time, the literati advocated piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, and expressed their affection for flowers, birds, fish and insects, which greatly promoted the transfer of Yangzhou's humanistic art and even aesthetic taste. Influenced by it, Yangzhou embroidery gradually increased, and the acclaimed Shuang Mianxiu appeared. The embroidery industry in Ming Dynasty was further developed due to the advocacy of the imperial government. The characteristics of Yangzhou embroidery are that the works are mostly taken from the excellent landscapes and figure paintings of many famous artists in the past, with profound artistic conception, clear composition level and elegant and soft colors. Each piece of work is meticulous, gorgeous, neat and smooth. Embroiderers try their best to express the natural and vivid charm of Chinese freehand brushwork and the exquisite and rigorous meticulous painting with exquisite skills.
