Xiaohai Porcelain Carving is a porcelain carving artist in Xiaohai Town. It is one of the intangible cultural heritages of Xiaohai Town, which uses a steel chisel to carve on the surface of the fired porcelain, carve beautiful patterns and color it. Xiaohai porcelain carving originated in the 18th century and has a history of more than 200 years. Its birth is inextricably linked with ancient Oracle inscriptions, bronze casting, jade carving in Qin and Han dynasties, wood carving, tooth carving and stone carving in Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. According to legend, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty often inscribed poems on his favorite porcelain to express his enthusiasm. In order to keep the imperial relics for a long time, court artists tried to carve Mo Bao porcelain on porcelain, which really produced porcelain carving. Xiaohai porcelain carving works are designed according to the shape, size and color of the processed carrier, and the drawings are extended to porcelain with carbon paper. Xiaohai porcelain carving can be divided into yin carving and yang carving. The intaglio is to express the object image by the sunken part; Positive engraving is to keep the objects to be represented, that is, to keep the porcelain. Then color assignment, that is, oil painting pigment, luminous oil and ceramic glaze, should be coordinated and properly matched according to the color tone of porcelain glaze. Finally, it is arranged and decorated. It is mainly to repeatedly modify the places where carving or coloring is not in place until they are satisfied, and then frame or configure brackets for the works.
