As early as Zhu Yuanzhang's reign in the Ming Dynasty, willow products were woven by peasant women in this town, such as needle and thread plaques, first-screened dressing baskets, boudoir embroidered clothing suitcases, etc., which were non-toxic, tasteless, white as silver, fine in workmanship, clear in grain, smooth in hand and beautiful in shape, and exported to Suzhou and Hangzhou.
