Jinhu lotus root

Jinhu County, Jiangsu Province is known as the land of plenty and lotus root, with nearly 120,000 mu of lotus root planted in the county, which is a green food production base. There are four lotus root food processing plants in the county, which basically rely on manual production. With the full implementation of three agricultural machinery projects in Jiangsu Province, namely "Construction of lotus root food production mechanization industrialization base" (NJ2005-13), the main production links of lotus root food in Jinhu County have been mechanized: fresh lotus root refrigeration → lotus root slicing → vacuum packaging, which greatly promotes the development of lotus root industry in Jinhu County. The implementation of this project has prolonged the production and processing cycle of lotus root food, reduced the labor intensity of operators, improved the production and processing efficiency and product quality of lotus root food, and increased the annual production capacity from 500 tons to 2000 tons. The core production base of lotus root is 200 mu, and the business model of "enterprise+base+farmers" is adopted, which drives more than 40 farmers every year and initially forms the lotus root food production industrial chain, which has played a good role in promoting the development of lotus root planting and processing industry in Jinhu County. Jinhu lotus root is a geographical indication certification trademark.
