Guanyun soybean is a dominant crop in Guanyun County, with a long history of production. "Guanyun soybean, the king of soybeans" is even more famous in China. According to "Science and Technology of Guanyun County", "soybeans were exported to seven countries including the United States and Britain in 1917"; "China Industrial Records" contains: "In December 1932, Guanyun County exported 15,000 stones of soybeans". In order to strengthen the breeding of improved varieties of Guanyun soybean, the original soybean seed farm in Guanyun County was established in 1961, and 17 new varieties of Guanyun soybean were successively bred, such as Soft Branch, Guanyun Dahuaihua, 58-161, Guanyuan No.1, Guanyuan No.1 and 74-5-31, which made important contributions to promoting the development of soybean economy, especially the "Soft Branch" presented by the farm to North Korea in 1963. Guanyun County is located in the southern coastal area of Huanghuai, in the south of Yimeng Mountain, with east longitude of 119 2 ′ 50 ″-119 52 ′ 9 ″ and north latitude of 34 11 ′ 45 ″-34 38 ′ 50 ″. The outstanding climate is characterized by abundant sunshine and rainfall, especially from late July to early September, when soybeans bloom, pod and grain are full. It is a local high-energy season with abundant sunshine and rainfall, which is conducive to soybean pod and grain enrichment, and contains a lot of unsaturated fatty acids, trace elements, vitamins and high-quality protein. Therefore, the same variety planted in this area is superior to other areas in terms of yield and quality. Guanyun soybean, one of the varieties with the highest nutritional value, contains a lot of unsaturated fatty acids, various trace elements, vitamins and high-quality protein. Soybean can be processed into many kinds of bean products, which are beneficial food for cardiovascular patients such as hypertension, arteriosclerosis and heart disease. Guanyun soybean is rich in protein, and contains complete amino acids, especially lysine, which just supplements the deficiency of cereal lysine, so people usually mix cereals with beans to make proteins complementary.
