Haimen persimmon

Persimmon is one of the ancient fruit trees in China. It has been used for food since Archaean times and is known as woody grain. Persimmon has strong adaptability, drought resistance, waterlogging resistance, temperature resistance and freezing resistance, and strong tree nature. It grows fast, bears many fruits and is easy to achieve high and stable yield, so it is deeply loved by the masses. Persimmon trees are not strict with soil requirements, and can grow in front of and behind the house, beside the ditch, on the barren beach in Pingchuan and on the poor ridge. Haimen City has been planting trees for more than 400 years. According to 1522-1564, there are records of persimmon cultivation in Haimen County Records of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, Haimen Hall Records of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty and Haimen County Records of the Republic of China. Our city has always spread scattered persimmons to thousands of households, and there are many persimmon orchards. Old persimmon trees are not uncommon. In 1998, the total output of persimmons in the city reached 4119 tons. Persimmon is a fruit with high edible value. At present, most of the large-scale cultivated persimmons in Haimen are astringent persimmons, mainly including local varieties of vermilion, Dafang persimmon and Xiaofang persimmon. The weight of a single fruit is 100-200g, with rich sweet juice, dense meat, cool and refreshing. According to the analysis, every 100 grams of fresh fruit contains 0.5 grams of protein, 18.6 grams of carbohydrates, 9 milligrams of calcium and 21 milligrams of phosphorus. Among them, the contents of protein, sugar and phosphorus all exceeded those of apples. Persimmon is more convenient to store and transport than other fruits, so it is very popular among consumers. Haimen City is close to Shanghai, Nantong and other large and medium-sized cities, and the persimmon sales market is broad. Therefore, it is of great significance to accelerate the industrialization of persimmon to revitalize the rural economy, meet market demand and get rich. At present, there are 1,160 mu of persimmon orchards in Haimen, with 883,000 scattered persimmon trees, which can produce about 4,500 tons of fruit every year.
