The production of Rugao floss began in 1914, and then in 1936, Xu Shousheng founded Taicang floss processing enterprise in Ruchengdong Street. Around 1942, Sun Mingyou and others set up a joint venture to open a Youlai floss factory in Rucheng to process floss and sell it to Shanghai and other places. Closed down after liberation. In 1951, Rugao Meat Joint Factory started processing pork floss at the initial stage. Later, they constantly improved the production technology and developed the best ingredient formula, which has formed Rugao's own unique flavor. Exports began in 1966. From 1971 to 1984, it was awarded the title and honorary certificate of high-quality famous and special products by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Light Industry and foreign trade. In March, 1985, the International Cuisine Society of Paris, France and the Tourism and Tourism Committee awarded the "Jinmei Brand" gold medal of honor for meat floss, which was the first gold medal for meat food that China won internationally. In 1988, he won the gold medal in the first China Food Expo. In 1992, Rugao brand meat floss won the gold medal in Hong Kong International Food Expo.
