Zhangzhuang Winter Peach is produced in Zhangzhuang Village, Cuizhai Township, Pei County, Jiangsu Province, where winter peaches have been cultivated for more than 100 years. According to legend, during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1879-1908), a man named Wu Mingfeng Zhu in Pei County became the prefect of Xiangyang, Hubei Province, and he introduced winter peaches to Pei County for cultivation. The shape, height and leaves of winter peach trees are similar to those of ordinary peach trees, but they have strong cold resistance. It is freezing in the cold and snowing heavily, and the winter peach trees are still lush and fragrant. This kind of peach stops growing when it grows to the size of a cherry. After a long summer, it grows rapidly after the temperature drops in September. After the "heavy snow", the peach enters a mature stage, and it is picked and listed around the "winter solstice". The leaves fall and the fruit does not drop. The bright red peach is dazzling against the white snow and blue sky, which can be described as a wonder of winter. The fruit of Zhangzhuang Dongtao is nearly round, the average weight of a single fruit is 71.32 grams, and the largest one is 91.2 grams. The peel is white, the sunny side is flushed, the fluff is much, the pulp is white, the juice is less and the sugar is more, the quality is fine and crisp, the meat is thick and the stone is small, and it is sweet and delicious, which is far better than ordinary peaches. Winter peach trees grow naturally and bear fruit without grafting. In spring, it blooms seven or eight days earlier than ordinary peach trees. When the peach grows to the size of a cherry, it stops growing and grows again after autumn. It is not mature until the "heavy snow" season in winter, and the growing period is more than 250 days. Mature peaches have a layer of white fluff on the surface, green and purple in the green, and the color is bright. The core is small, and the core is reddish with the flesh near it, which reminds people that it has experienced the severe cold of snow and wind, and it is dedicated to people.
