Gaochun feather fan

After Gaochun feather fan was appointed as tribute fan, the feather fan industry of Gaochun developed and flourished rapidly. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, guilds appeared. Under the unified leadership of the guild, every year on March 15th of the lunar calendar, all feather fan shops begin to' list' and produce samples, and the guild sends representatives to check the specifications and quality of products door to door and evaluate the prices. Products with good quality will be rated as' tribute firms', and the brand of' tribute feather fans' will be hung, which will undertake the production task of tribute fans in that year. At that time, the rules of feather fans were quite strict, and no one was allowed to operate without the approval of the guild. Even the products produced by ourselves must be approved by the guild if they want to be sold in the market. After liberation, with the support of the Party and the people's government, Gaochun feather fan manufacturing industry has developed rapidly. The production and sales volume has soared from 400,000 on the eve of liberation to 1 million, and sold well in 23 countries and regions such as the Soviet Union, Canada, Nanyang Islands and Oceania. In 1951, in order to express gratitude to the Party and the people's government, Gaochun feather fan workers selected the best carved feathers and carefully made four large feather fans with sword-shaped ivory handles, which were presented to Chairman Mao and Commander Zhu, Chairman of East China Military and Political Commission Rao Shushi and Director of Southern Jiangsu Administrative Office Guan Wenwei respectively. After Chairman Mao and Commander Zhu received the feather fan, they immediately entrusted the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC to send 20 yuan a reward and expressed their gratitude. One thing that people in the old street are very proud of is that the goose feather fan made by them was sent to Beijing for the great man Mao Zedong.
