Nanhui peach

At the end of 2004, the State Forestry Administration announced the evaluation results of the third batch of famous and excellent economic forests in China. After local recommendation and expert evaluation, 73 counties, cities and districts in China were named as "the hometown of famous and excellent economic forests in China". Among them, Nanhui District of Shanghai was named "the hometown of peaches in China" with absolute superiority. In April, 2005, Nanhui Peach became the first agricultural product in Shanghai to be protected by national geographical products. Nanhui peaches come from Shanghai peaches and have unique product value. The earliest documentary record of peaches can be found in a book "Qunfangpu" of the Ming Dynasty, which records: "peaches are unique in Shanghai, and Gu Shangbao's West Garden is especially good." Later, with the expansion of Shanghai, Shanghai peaches developed to the suburbs and gradually evolved into Nanhui peaches. At present, there are still the original species of Shanghai peaches in Nanhui Zhou Pu area. After purification and rejuvenation by several generations of agricultural people, Nanhui Peach has grown to more than 100,000 mu, forming a series of excellent varieties such as Datuan Honey Dew and Xinfeng Honey Dew. Nanhui has become one of the regions with the widest cultivation area, the most concentrated distribution and the largest output of peaches in Jiangnan Plain, and has been rated as the national famous, special and excellent commodity base of peaches by the State Forestry Department. According to "People's Republic of China (PRC) Product Quality Law" and "Regulations on the Protection of Geographical Origin Products", the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine passed the examination of the application for the protection of geographical origin products of Nanhui peaches, and approved the protection of geographical origin products of Nanhui peaches (Announcement No.13, 2005, February 4, 2005). Scope of geographical protection The geographical scope of Nanhui Peach's origin is subject to the geographical scope proposed in the Letter of Shanghai Nanhui District People's Government on Defining the Product Protection Scope of Nanhui Peach's Origin (Nanfuhan [2004] No.14), which is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of Shanghai Nanhui District. Nanhui peach is a geographical indication protection product. Nanhui peach is a geographical indication certification trademark.
