These records show that the processing of aquatic products was quite developed at that time. However, it is still impossible to prove the correct age of producing white snapper. Now, the recorded age is the Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. At that time, fish merchants from Zhenhai and other places went to Dongshajiao of Daishan to set up factories to make snapper, split fish by hand with a "knife" and marinate fish in big barrels ... The technology has been perfected. By the eve of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, there were nearly 500 aquatic products processing factories in the whole region, including 303 in Daishan. In the mid-1970s, the author once visited a "fish factory" in Changtu, saw the performance of "Knife Hand" chopping fish quickly, and then put the fish into a big wooden bucket-it should be called a pool. How can there be such a big wooden bucket in the residents' house? It's as big as the wooden bucket of Peter Ford's flying car, but it's not that deep-it's pickled, rinsed and dried, and then it becomes delicious silver carp, which was one of the main export commodities in our region before liberation. In 21 years of the Republic of China, our region exported 4,000 tons of various aquatic products, of which silver carp accounted for a large proportion. In 1950s, a small amount of silver carp was exported to Southeast Asian countries. Since 1960s, with the development of refrigeration industry and the decline of large yellow croaker resources, silver carp processing industry has actually been eliminated.
