The hairtail belongs to migratory fish, and has the habit of moving vertically day and night. During the day, the hairtail inhabits the middle and lower water layers and rises to the surface at night. The hairtail in China's coastal areas can be divided into two categories: south and north. The hairtail in the north is larger than that in the south, which overwinters in the southern Yellow Sea and swims to the Bohai Sea in spring, forming a spring fishing season, and returning to the wintering area in autumn to form an autumn fishing season. The hairtail in the south moves north and south every year along the western edge of the East China Sea with different seasons.
