The summer cuttlefish flood formed in Shengshan Fishing Ground belongs to Zhejiang cuttlefish group. From late April to early May, it successively entered the spawning grounds of Ma 'an Islands from Langgang and Haijiao, forming the cuttlefish flood season of Shengshan, Lycium barbarum, flowers and birds, green flowers, Bixia and Sijiao Huanglong. Cuttlefish has high edible, nutritional and medicinal value, and its whole body is a treasure. Cuttlefish, eggs and spine (Chinese medicine named cuttlebone) can all be used as medicine. Li Shizhen called cuttlefish "blood medicine", which is a treasure for women with anemia and amenorrhea due to blood deficiency.
