Helen beet

Helen Beet Helen City, Heilongjiang Province has a long history of beet cultivation, which has been 70 years since the 1930s and 1940s. In 2007, the sugar beet planting area reached 200,000 mu, making it the largest sugar beet planting base in China. Helen is located in the hinterland of Songnen Plain, one of the three black lands in the world, and has unique natural conditions suitable for beet growth. Helen beet has the characteristics of long history, excellent quality, high sugar and high yield, outstanding benefits, mechanization, industrialization, clustering and modernization. In view of the outstanding achievements of Hailun City in developing beet industry in China, the important role of beet economy in developing local economy, the excellent quality of beet itself and the exemplary leading role in developing beet characteristic economy and driving farmers to get rich, on August 26th, 2009, the China Specialty Association decided to award Hailun City, Heilongjiang Province the title of "China Beet Town" after the review, special review, scientific appraisal and comprehensive investigation by relevant experts and scholars.
