Hippophae rhamnoides L. is the fruit of Hippophae rhamnoides L. of Elaeagnaceae, also known as vinegar willow and sour thorn fruit. Seabuckthorn fruit is a small berry plant, deciduous shrub or small tree. Seabuckthorn has a well-developed root system and has the characteristics of nitrogen-fixing nodules. It has the characteristics of drought resistance, barren resistance and saline-alkali resistance, so it has been widely planted in many parts of the country as an excellent tree species for windbreak, sand fixation, water and soil conservation and soil improvement. It is now distributed in 19 provinces and regions in China, with a total area of about 1.2 million hectares. Where the land is covered by sea buckthorn, the surface runoff is reduced by 80%, the topsoil loss is reduced by 75%, and the wind erosion is reduced by 85%. Planting seabuckthorn will achieve three major benefits: ecology, economy and society. Seabuckthorn fruit is rich in nutrition.
