Chinese herbal medicine resources: There are about 210 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines in Hulin City. The total reserves of medicinal materials are 100 million kilograms (14.475 million kilograms of authentic medicinal materials and 34.35 million kilograms of bulk medicinal materials). The most precious animal medicines are frog oil, velvet antler, deer tail and bear gall. Authentic medicinal materials include Cortex Phellodendri, Radix Acanthopanacis Senticosi, Viscum Mistletoe, Semen Euryales, Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, Radix Gentianae, Herba Asari, Radix Rhododendron, etc. The bulk medicinal materials are Rhizoma Atractylodis, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae, Fructus Xanthii, Radix Clematidis, Rhizoma Osmundae, Herba Leonuri, Ginseng, Rhizoma Dioscoreae Nipponicae, Radix Sophorae Flavescentis, etc. There are 6 kinds of medicinal materials managed by the state and the province, including Ginseng, Cortex Phellodendri, Acanthopanax Senticosus, Gentiana scabra, Rhododendron rhododendron and Saposhnikovia divaricata. There are 14 kinds of local medicinal materials protected by the state and the province, such as velvet antler, bear gall, frog, ginseng, phellodendron, acanthopanax senticosus, Schisandra chinensis, gentian, Euryale seed, asarum, rhododendron, Bupleurum, Platycodon grandiflorum and Saposhnikovia divaricata. More than 100 species have been developed and utilized, including acanthopanax senticosus, ginseng, Schisandra chinensis, royal jelly and bear bile, and more than 100 species have not yet been developed.
