Baiquan county yellow beef cattle

Baiquan County is located in the middle of Heilongjiang Province and the east of Qiqihar City. There are 16 townships and 186 villages in the county with a total population of 563,000. Among them, the agricultural population is 456,000. The county covers an area of 35.9915 square kilometers (equivalent to 5.3996 million mu), including 3.613 million mu of cultivated land, 126,000 mu of grassland and 1.19 million mu of forest land. In 2006, the total output value of animal husbandry in the county reached 610 million yuan, accounting for 27.8% of the total output value. Baiquan County is also an advanced county in the construction of ecological agriculture in China. It won the first prize of national ecological engineering, was named as a green industry demonstration park by the international industrial organization, and was named as "the hometown of yellow (beef) cattle in China" by the China specialty and publicity organizing committee in 2001. Baiquan county has a long history of developing agriculture and animal husbandry, and it is also a major agricultural county in the province's major grain and bean producing areas. It is rich in straw and forage resources and has a unique natural grassland. At present, a production line with an annual slaughter of 500,000 heads has been built. It is estimated that by the end of the year, the number of yellow beef cattle in the county will reach 350,000, and the output value will reach 180 million yuan. Up to now, there are 56 villages with 1-2 yellow beef cattle per household in the county, and 18 villages with more than 2 cattle per household; 45 large-scale farms with annual slaughter of more than 100 heads; 596 large professional households. Through the radiation of typical large households, the enthusiasm of the majority of farmers in the county to raise cattle has been greatly aroused. While doing a good job in yellow beef cattle production, the county government has strengthened the construction of yellow beef cattle trading market and marketing team. Up to now, there are 17 yellow beef cattle trading markets in the county, with 2,300 yellow beef cattle marketing agents, with a trading volume of more than 100,000 cattle and a trading volume of more than 200 million yuan, forming a one-stop production and sales of yellow beef cattle, effectively promoting the economic development of yellow beef cattle. In order to accelerate the healthy and rapid development of yellow beef cattle production in the county, give full play to the pulling role of leading enterprises, take enterprises as the leader and expand reproduction based on the base, thus mobilizing the enthusiasm of the majority of cattle farmers. Hequan Food Co., Ltd. was established through attracting investment, and its products are exported to Shanghai, Hunan, Shenyang and other places. This year, another 5 million yuan was invested to expand the farm and new production and processing lines. After reaching the production efficiency, 160,000 beef cattle can be slaughtered every year, and the annual profit and tax can reach 11 million yuan.
