Gannan soybean

Soybean, which was called fenugreek in China in ancient times, is a leguminous plant whose seeds are rich in protein. Soybean is oval and spherical, with yellow, light green and black colors, so it is also called soybean, green bean and black bean. Soybeans are most commonly used for making various bean products, pressing soybean oil, refining soy sauce and refining protein. Bean dregs or soybeans ground into coarse powder are also commonly used in livestock feed. In China, Japan and North Korea, tofu with different hardness has been eaten for thousands of years. After soybean processing, it can also become soy sauce or fermented bean curd. Modern Europe and America also began to eat tofu, but it is generally used instead of dairy products. According to the climate division of soybean in China, soybeans are generally planted except in high altitude and high latitude areas with insufficient heat and areas with annual precipitation below 250 mm and no irrigation conditions. The concentrated soybean producing areas in China are in Northeast Plain, Huanghuai Plain, Yangtze River Delta and Jianghan Plain. According to the characteristics of soybean varieties and different farming systems, China's soybean production can be divided into five main producing areas: 1. Spring soybean area dominated by three northeastern provinces; 2. Summer soybean area dominated by Huanghuai basin; 4. Autumn soybean area dominated by the Yangtze River basin; 5. Guangdong and Guangxi in the south of the Yangtze River; and soybean multi-cropping area dominated by southern Yunnan. Among them, spring-sown soybeans in Northeast China and summer-sown soybeans in Huanghuaihai are the two areas with the largest soybean planting area and the highest yield in China.
