A new stem grows from last year's axillary bud, with a diameter of 1-2 mm. 2-3 pinnate compound leaves, slender petiole, 3-5 cm long, sparsely white pilose or nearly hairless, ovate, about 5 cm long and 4-4.5 cm wide, lobules ovate-lanceolate to narrowly ovate, with short stalks or nearly sessile, pinnate 0, with a few notched teeth or nearly entire, green surface, nearly hairless, pale back, sparsely pilose, veins. Flowers solitary, drooping; Sepals lanceolate, 3.2-3.8 cm long, pale blue-purple; Staminodes in two whorls, 1.2 cm long, spatulate apex, numerous stamens, connective usually elongated. Achene rhomboid obovate, about 3 mm long, about 2 mm wide, slightly swollen on both sides, hairy, persistent flowers about 3 cm long, covered with gray feathers. The flowering period is from June to July, and the fruiting period is from August to September. Born in alpine tundra. Distributed in China (Northeast) and North Korea (North).
