Gongzhuling corn

Gongzhuling was named "China Corn Town" by China Grain Industry Association. The starch content, protein content and fat content of maize in Gongzhuling City are above 71%, 9% and 4% respectively. Gongzhuling corn won the national geographical indication certification trademark. Gongzhuling City is located in the middle and west of Jilin Province, in the hinterland of Songliao Plain and on the right bank of the middle reaches of East Liaohe River. The city is located at 124 10 ′ ~ 125 18 ′ east longitude and 43 11 ′ ~ 44 9 ′ north latitude, which is called "the three golden corn belts" in the world together with the American corn belt and the Ukrainian corn belt at the same latitude. The corn in Gongzhuling City is obviously better than other areas in terms of yield and component content. After testing, the starch content of corn in Gongzhuling City remained above 71%, the protein content remained above 9%, and the fat content remained above 4%. On April 25th, 2011, China Grain Industry Association awarded Gongzhuling the honor of "Hometown of Corn in China" based on its unique resource advantages and its important position in ensuring national food security.
