Changtuhuo goose

Changtu Huoe Goose, called "Scar-eye Goose" locally, was born in Changtu County, Liaoning Province. It was named Huoe Goose because there was a gap in its upper eyelid. Changtuhuo Goose is a variety of China White Goose, which has an obvious advantage among goose breeds in China because of its high egg production, strong adaptability, low appetite, tolerance to coarse feeding, love to eat grass and wild vegetables, suitable for stocking, and is not afraid of heat in summer and cold in winter, and easy to raise. Female geese lay eggs, male geese provide meat, goose feathers can be processed into down products, goose droppings can be used to fertilize fields, and goose liver can be used as medicine. Changtu County, Tieling City, located in the north of Liaoning Province, is rich in famous small geese of white goose species in China. Therefore, this kind of goose species called Laihang in the Goose is called Changtu Huoe. The area is located at the junction of Liaoning, Jilin and Mongolia provinces. Changtu County of Tieling City covers an area of 4,324 square kilometers, with a total forest volume of 3.85 million cubic meters and a coverage rate of 26.9%. The registered cultivated land area is 3.42 million mu. The county has jurisdiction over 38 township farms (24 towns, 14 townships and 5 agricultural and forestry farms) and 544 administrative villages with a total population of 1.02 million, including 830,000 agricultural people. Farmers occupy nearly 5 mu of cultivated land per capita, with convenient transportation. Changda Railway, National Highway 102, Shenyang-Harbin Expressway run through the north and south, Pingqi Railway and Jixi Highway (National Highway 303) run across the east and west. Changtu County is rich in agricultural and sideline products resources, and is a famous commodity grain base county in China. In normal years, the grain output is more than 1.5 million tons, and it is rich in corn, rice, wheat, sorghum and soybeans, and is known as the "granary in northern Liaoning". The output of economic crops such as vegetables, flue-cured tobacco, beets, peanuts, carrots and potatoes is also considerable. The animal husbandry is developed, and it has been listed as a demonstration county for raising cattle with straw in the plain and the "Hometown of China Huogu Goose" successively by the state, and "Changtu Black Pig" and "Changtu Huogu Goose" are famous all over the country.
