Zhangwu County, located in the northwest of Liaoning Province, is a sandstorm and semi-arid area. Natural conditions such as climate are very suitable for coarse cereals production. Therefore, coarse cereals production has become a traditional industry in our county and has a high reputation both inside and outside the province. In recent years, the planting area of miscellaneous grains in the county has been stable at more than 200,000 mu, with an annual total output of about 40,000 tons. Its varieties are mainly black beans, buckwheat, millet, adzuki beans and mung beans. Sibaozi Township is located in the hilly area in the northwest of Zhangwu County, and its unique geographical environment has made the production of miscellaneous grains in this township have a good foundation. Especially in recent years, the township party committee and government have strengthened the adjustment of the planting industry structure, that is, highlighting the characteristics of miscellaneous grains and the market prospect of miscellaneous grains. According to statistics, in 2004, the planting area of miscellaneous crops in Sibaozi Township was 10,680 mu, with a total output of 1,689 tons. In 2005, the planting area of miscellaneous grains in the township was about 15,500 mu, with an estimated total output of 2,363 tons. Millet, buckwheat, mung bean, adzuki bean, sesame and other crops are the main crops. In terms of market sales, it can be said that the demand exceeds the supply. Since 2000, all the miscellaneous grains in the township have been sold to other provinces and cities except about 2% for their own use. Last year, nearly 150 tons of sunflower were sold to Yanji, Jilin and 120 tons to Hebei, and the rest were sold to Yingkou, Jinzhou, Qinhuangdao and other port areas. Other kinds of miscellaneous grains are also sold to Shandong, Hebei and other places, such as adzuki beans and mung beans. Among them, a large part of high-grade high-quality miscellaneous grains are processed by Guxiang Co., Ltd. in my hometown, and their new products, such as selected adzuki beans, black beans and buckwheat rice, are exported to overseas countries such as Japan, South Korea and Cuba. At present, buckwheat in Sibaozi Township has obtained organic food certification and registered the trademark "Green Home"; Mung beans, adzuki beans, sesame seeds, etc. are actively applying for green food certification. Sibaozi Township is moving towards a provincial specialized township of miscellaneous grains. Its miscellaneous grains industry has increased farmers' income, and economic growth has found an effective way to effectively promote the economic development of the township.
