Fossil refined millet from Gexiang is produced in Huage Township, Fumeng County, western Liaoning Province. Since the 21st year of Kangxi, this millet has been given the title of Gong Mi of the Qing Dynasty. The unique geography, soil, water quality and climate environment have created this unique special flavor of Gong Mi. Because it is produced in a pure natural and pollution-free mountainous area, its nutrition is very rich. The contents of protein, lysine, vitamin A, carotene and other vitamins and essential trace elements such as potassium, sodium, calcium, manganese, iron, magnesium, zinc and phosphorus are higher than those of ordinary millet. In May, 2004, the Product Quality Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture (Beijing) tested the "Tuogu Brand" fossil refined millet, and found that the content of trace elements beneficial to human body was among the best in the detection of similar products. In particular, the zinc content is as high as 2.80mg per 100 grams, ranking first. Undoubtedly, this millet is one of the best foods that people choose to eat at present, especially for the elderly, children, lying-in women and candidates. It can not only nourish the stomach and strengthen the spleen, prolong life, protect face and resist aging, but also play an important role in growth and development, brain and intelligence. This millet is divided into two series products, yellow and white. It was approved as-green food by China Green Food Development Center in 2002, and won Liaoning Agricultural Quality Agricultural Products Award for many years in succession, and served as a special food for China Women's Football Team.
