Yingkou tussah

Tussah is one of the important specialties in Yingkou. Tussah production in Yingkou has a history of more than 300 years. As early as the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, tussah began to be stocked, and then spread to Zhuanghe, Xiuyan, Haicheng and other places. It is the earliest and longest area in Liaoning Province and Northeast China where tussah was artificially stocked in large quantities. The tussah in Yingkou is mainly distributed in the eastern mountainous areas of dashiqiao city and gaizhou city. There are 2.5 million mu of various oak forest resources in the city, accounting for 51.5% of the total land area of 30 towns and villages in the eastern mountainous area, which is the largest resource area in the city's agricultural production. The tussah in Yingkou can be divided into four series according to the variety source, namely, green silkworm system, yellow silkworm system, indigo system and silvery white system; According to the stocking quantity, Qing 6 in green silkworm system and Qinghuang 1 in yellow silkworm system are the main released varieties. Among them, Qing 6 accounts for 60% of the stocking quantity, and Qinghuang 1 accounts for 30%. The output of tussah increased year by year, reaching 6212 tons in 1998. Tussah is a multi-level value-added product, and its commodity rate is almost 100%. It is the backbone project for farmers in mountainous areas to get rich and earn foreign exchange. Yingkou tussah is a geographical indication certification trademark.
