Dandong silk

In the history of silk production in China, there is a saying that "South mulberry and North tussah". "North Tussah" refers to the production of tussah in Dandong, which is the raw material for silk production. 85% of China's tussah resources are in Liaoning, and 80% of Liaoning is in Dandong. For more than 100 years, Dandong has been the largest tussah raw material processing and tussah silk production base in China. Dandong tussah silk is well-known at home and abroad and is a traditional export product of China's textile industry. There used to be a saying that "there is heaven above and silk below", which reflected the golden age of silk cocoon industry in Dandong. With the development of the times, tussah silk products have been continuously upgraded in grade and level, and many famous products are often given to foreign guests as national gifts, which has also become the first choice for tourists to come to Dan. This is the eternal pride of Dandong Silk. Since 1960s, Dandong silk industry has formed the largest and most complete production system in China. Before 1992, in the glorious period of Dandong silk industry, the annual output value of Dandong silk industry was about 350 million to 450 million yuan.
