In 2000, with the demonstration of experts and the strong support of governments at all levels, Beidianzi Township introduced and tried to plant 30 mu of Canadian "Vidal" ice grapes, which was successful. Since 2003, it has been widely promoted in the township. Up to now, more than 10,000 mu of ice grapes have been planted in the township, and the ice grape industry has become the leading industry in the village. Taking the rural industrialization development model of "leading enterprises+bases+farmers+standards" as the goal, Beidianzi Township has built 11,500 mu of standardized wine grape planting bases, all of which have implemented standardized planting management, and insisted on refining the standards and norms to every link. At the same time, the township also hired experts from Liaoning Fruit Research Institute to conduct comprehensive research on the cultivation and management technology of frozen grapes as a scientific research topic, and achieved great achievements in breeding, planting and management. It not only cultivated and improved the scientific and technological cultivation and management technology of growers in the village, but also compiled theoretical courses such as Ecological Planting Technology of Frozen Grapes and Technical Regulations for the Management of Frozen Grapes. In 2004, the ice grape project was listed as one of the 12 new excellent special seedling breeding base projects in China by the Ministry of Agriculture, and the ice grape production base in Beidianzi Township was identified as the demonstration area of ice grape ecological planting by the National Standards Committee. In 2006, the township was designated as a demonstration base of modern agriculture in Liaoning Province. At the same time, the production technology of "Vidal Ice Wine" and its phenols passed the appraisal of the National Standardization Committee, and were evaluated as: the first in China and the leading in the world, realizing the independent intellectual property rights of ice wine production in China. Beidianzi Township has become a real "golden ice valley in the world" and "hometown of ice wine in China".
