Gentiana Qingyuan

"Qingyuan Gentiana" refers to Gentiana produced in Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province. Gentiana scabra, also known as Gentiana scabra, grows in Northeast China, which is a perennial herb with roots as medicine and gentiopicroside as its medicinal component. Gentiana scabra in Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province is a local characteristic medicinal material with excellent quality. The content of gentiopicroside is 5-9 times higher than that specified in Pharmacopoeia. Besides a large number of wild growth, artificial cultivation of Gentiana scabra has been started as early as the late 20th century. By the beginning of the 21st century, more than 3,000 people have mastered more skilled planting techniques. Gentiana scabra has become a pillar variety of traditional Chinese medicine cultivation in Qingyuan. The annual output can reach 1,000 tons, accounting for 80% of the national market. It has successively won the Silver Award of China Agricultural Expo in 1995, the Gold Award of Liaoning Chinese Herbal Medicine Variety Expo in 2000, the Liaoning Agricultural Achievement and High-quality Agricultural Products Award in 2002, and the "Demonstration Unit Award of Agricultural Science and Technology Industrialization" of the 6th Beijing International Expo in China in 2003. In December, 2008, it was approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and it was decided to protect the national geographical indication products of Gentiana Qingyuan. Scope of protection The scope of protection of Qingyuan gentian geographical indication products is subject to the scope proposed by the People's Government of Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County of Liaoning Province in the Letter on Declaring the Protection of Qingyuan gentian geographical indication products (Qingzheng [2008] No.11), which is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County of Liaoning Province. Qingyuan Gentiana is a geographical indication protection product. Qingyuan Gentiana is a geographical indication certification trademark.
