Schisandra chinensis in Xiuyan

Schisandra chinensis is a Chinese herbal medicine, which has the effects of anti-fatigue and improving immunity. Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County in Liaoning Province has been the authentic origin of rare Chinese medicinal materials such as Schisandra chinensis since ancient times. The Schisandra chinensis produced is famous for its thin skin, thick meat, large grains and high medicinal components. Exported to Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, it has become a characteristic product in Xiuyan area, and in 2009, it was protected by national geographical indication products. Schisandra chinensis has strong adaptability, and likes fat, moisture and light. Xiuyan belongs to the mid-temperate sub-humid monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of 7.9℃, the coldest January average temperature of -9.9℃ and the lowest average temperature of-15.3℃. In the hottest July and August, the average temperature is about 23℃, and the average maximum temperature is 28℃. The average annual rainfall is about 800 mm. In 2002, Liaoning Yimin Medicinal Materials Development Co., Ltd. established a production demonstration base of Schisandra chinensis in China Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and successfully planted 2,000 mu of Schisandra chinensis in Xiuyan, filling the blank of no artificial planting of Schisandra chinensis in Xiuyan area. Driven by the radiation of Yimin Company, more than 2,300 farmers in Xiuyan planted more than 20,000 mu of Schisandra chinensis, which increased the per capita income by more than 4,000 yuan, and lifted more than 6,000 farmers out of poverty. Under the industrialized management mode of "company+base+farmer", from 2006 to 2008, Schisandra chinensis was certified and accepted by European organizations and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine for three consecutive years. Because of its high quality, it was sold to Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, and became a special product in Xiuyan area. For a long time, Schisandra chinensis in Xiuyan has been sold as raw materials. In order to enlarge and strengthen the industry of Schisandra chinensis, Anshan Juyuan Food Co., Ltd. invested more than 40 million yuan in 2007 to build a deep processing production line of Schisandra chinensis. More than ten kinds of food formulas such as health wine, health tea and drinks have been developed, and 5,000 tons of dried fruit of Schisandra chinensis can be processed every year. Xiuyan Leek Valley Township won the title of "Hometown of Schisandra Chinensis, a special product of Liaoning in 2009". Protection of geographical indication products Xiuyan Liao Schisandra chinensis, in 2009, after review by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, decided to implement national geographical indication product protection. Scope of protection The scope of protection of geographical indication products of Xiuyan Liaowuweizi is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province.
