Nanxing pear

Nanxing pear is a specialty at the foot of Qian Shan, a famous scenic spot in Liaoning Province. It is famous for its excellent quality and unique flavor. Nanguo pear was once listed as a "tribute" in Qing Dynasty. Nanguo pear originated from a natural hybrid seedling on the east slope of Shimugou, Duizhuang Shi Cun, a suburb of Anshan. It is said that when the mother plant was in full fruit, vendors shipped fruit from Anshan to Liaoning for sale, so it was named Nanxing pear because it came from the south of Liaoyang. Nanxing pear has strong adaptability, cold resistance, disease resistance and barren tolerance. In Anshan, the requirements for soil conditions and cultivation techniques are not strict, and it can still grow even on the hillside of 40-50 degrees, with good results. Nanguo pear has strong photophobia, vigorous growth and large crown. A 20-year-old tree can yield 500-600 Jin per plant. Nanguo pear has strong flavor heritability and is an excellent resource for breeding.
