Recently, China Edible Fungi Business Network sent personnel to inspect the main producing areas of Pleurotus ostreatus with the person in charge of Sichuan Chuanye Beijing Distribution Center, the largest domestic edible fungus product distribution company. It is believed that the largest production base of Pleurotus ostreatus in China should belong to zhuanghe city, zhuanghe city, Liaoning Province, which has been producing Pleurotus ostreatus for nearly 30 years, with an output of more than 30,000 tons in 2003 and more than 50,000 tons in 2004. At present, there are nearly 20,000 farmers planting Pleurotus ostreatus in the city, with an average annual output of more than 2 tons per household. According to conservative statistics, the output in 2004 reached more than 50,000 tons. In recent years, due to the increasing market demand for Pleurotus ostreatus, especially the Pleurotus ostreatus produced in zhuanghe city, because of its special ecological environment, no pollution, good water quality and large temperature difference between the four seasons, its meat quality and nutrition are well received by consumers. With the increasing support for mushroom farmers in zhuanghe city, the production of Pleurotus ostreatus has increased year by year, and now it can be produced all year round in zhuanghe city except July and August. According to reports, Chuanye Company is currently the largest distributor of Pleurotus ostreatus in China, and it is very optimistic about the production base of Pleurotus ostreatus in Zhuanghe, and plans to enter the deep production and development together with the local government. According to statistics, the total annual output of Pleurotus ostreatus in China is only about 80,000 tons. Besides zhuanghe city, there is still a certain output in Linzhong County, Heilongjiang Province and Pingquan, Hebei Province. Because of its special production environment, Pleurotus ostreatus is suitable for northeast China, so there is no large-scale production in south China at present.
