The Shenbei New District Rice Industry Association retrieved the trademark registration certificate of "Shenbei Rice" from the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce. This is the first certification trademark registered with geographical indications in Shenbei New District, which marks that the rice processing industry in Shenbei New District has officially embarked on the road of brand development. Yinjia Township, Shifosi Township, Huangjia Township and Xinglongtai Town in Shenbei New District are located in the northwest of Shenbei New District and are the main producing areas of high-quality rice. In recent years, the rice processing industry in Shenbei New District has developed rapidly, the production and sales volume have increased year after year, and the quality of rice has also been recognized by the people. However, due to the lack of independent brands, many small processing enterprises are in a "fragmented" situation, products can not sell at good prices, and enterprises are not competitive in the market. The value of geographical indication products sold in Shenyang is generally 20%-40% higher than that of similar products. The relevant staff of the Industrial and Commercial Bureau of Shenbei New District said that with this status, the export price of "Shenbei Rice" will be several times or even ten times, which will greatly enhance the popularity of Shenyang, an old industrial base, at home and abroad while driving the economic development around Shenyang. Moreover, the successful registration of "Shenbei Rice" will further enhance the brand awareness and market share of Shenbei Rice, and will drive the rice processing industry in Shenbei New District to stride forward in the direction of scale and branding.
