Sujiatun rice is a specialty of Sujiatun District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Sujiatun District is a national commodity grain base and a demonstration area of pollution-free rice agricultural standardization. Sujiatun rice is protected by geographical indications. Sujiatun District, located in the southern suburbs of Shenyang, is known as "the first village in the world". Located in the center of the central Liaoning urban agglomeration, the geographical position is extremely superior. With mild climate, moderate rainfall and abundant sunshine, it is a national commodity grain base, a demonstration area of pollution-free rice agricultural standardization, a demonstration area of food self-sufficiency project and a demonstration area of agricultural standardization production in Liaoning Province. In recent years, Sujiatun District has fully tapped its resource advantages and introduced a number of rice deep-processing enterprises such as COFCO, Paradise Mi Lu and Liaoxing Rice Industry, which has further extended the industrial chain of Sujiatun rice (Hong Ling rice) and produced fine rice, rice bran oil, rice beverage and other products, greatly improving the added value of rice. The selling price of Sujiatun rice (Hong Ling rice) per kilogram has increased from 3.6 yuan in 2010 to 4.8 yuan now, which has been realized by farmers in the whole region.
