Pot cakes, a delicious food enjoyed by Kangxi, are said to have passed through Erdengquan, Duolun County, when Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty was patrolling the border. Because he was exhausted from working in the wild for many days, he went to a hundred people's house for the night. At the dinner table, the host presented the emperor with a pancake of oat flour. Hungry and thirsty, Kangxi felt that he had never eaten such delicious food, even surpassing the royal banquet. Since then, Duolun Youmian pot cakes have often appeared on the palace banquet table.
