Production performance The feeding management of Wuzhumuqin sheep is extremely extensive, grazing all year round, without supplementary feeding, only slightly supplementing grass when the snow is too heavy to graze. Wuzhumuqin sheep grows and develops rapidly, and the average weight of male and female lambs aged 2.5 ~ 3 months is 29.5 kg and 24.9 kg. 6-month-old lambs average 40 and 36 kilograms, adult rams 60-70 kilograms and adult ewes 56-62 kilograms, with an average carcass weight of 17.90 kilograms, a slaughter rate of 50%, an average net meat weight of 11.80 kilograms and a net meat rate of 33%. Wuzhumuqin sheep meat has low water content and is rich in minerals such as calcium, iron and phosphorus, and fat precipitation between myofibrils and muscle fibers is sufficient. The lambing rate is only 100%. Wuzhumuqin sheep is suitable for grazing all year round. It has the characteristics of fast fattening, strong fat accumulation ability, high meat yield and early sexual maturity. It is suitable for grazing fattening or planned fattening lamb production by taking advantage of the flourishing growth period of pasture.
