Bitter almond is apricot kernel. China's traditional export commodities. Bitter almond tastes bitter and contains 50% fatty oil, amygdalin and emulsin. Almond oil (fatty oil) and volatile almond oil (benzaldehyde) can be made. In medicine, it has the function of dispersing lung and lowering qi, and can treat cough, asthma, laryngitis, intestinal dryness and constipation caused by exogenous diseases. In industry, it can be used as raw materials for cosmetics, wine making and vinegar making. After cyanohydrogen acid (picrin) containing toxin is extracted, it can be made into cakes. Bitter almonds are produced in all parts of the autonomous region, among which Chifeng City, Tongliao City, Xing 'an League and Xilin Gol League have the highest output. The area of apricot forest in the whole region is about 8 million mu, with an annual output of about 2,000 tons.
