Beautiful white shrimp is also called beautiful long-arm shrimp. The body is cylindrical, smooth and transparent. The adult shrimp is generally 35 ~ 80mm long and weighs 0.4g ~ 2.4g.. White shrimp is the only economic shrimp in Hulun Lake, which has the characteristics of fast growth, wide feeding habits, strong reproduction and high nutritional value. It is a high-protein and low-fat organism, and the crude protein content of fresh shrimp is much higher than that of fish in the same water area. The breeding season of beautiful white shrimp is from the end of May to mid-August in Hulun Lake, and the breeding peak is from mid-June to mid-July. White shrimp is an omnivore, which feeds on zooplankton, plant debris and bacteria all its life. The output of fresh shrimp is very high. Since 1990s, the output of fresh shrimp in Hulun Lake has increased year by year, with an annual output of about 2,300 tons.
