Sanhe Cattle is an excellent breed for both milk and meat cultivated in China. It is mainly distributed in the three rivers (Genhe, De Lebourt and Habuer) in Ergun City at the west foot of Daxinganling in Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia, with a total of about 80,000 head. Sanhe cattle is bred by crossing multiple breeds. The breeding work of the system has a history of several decades. In 1954-1955, based on the acquisition of Sanhe cattle raised by local and overseas Chinese, 20 state-owned pastures were built, and the breeding and improvement were carried out in a planned way. After more than 30 years' efforts, this breed has basically taken shape. In 1986, it was officially accepted by the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and named as "Inner Mongolia Sanhe Cattle". Appearance characteristics Sanhe cattle is tall and strong, with regular limbs, strong limbs and solid hoof. There are horns, the horns are slightly upward and bent forward, and a few horns are upward. Breast size is medium, texture is good, mammary veins are obviously curved, 0 is moderate in size and evenly distributed. The coat color is red (yellow) and white flowers, with distinct flower segments, white head, white spots on the forehead, and white knees, abdomen and tail tips of limbs. Adult males and cows weigh 1050kg and 547.9kg respectively, and their body heights are 156.8cm and 131.8cm respectively. The newborn weight of calves is 35.8kg for males and 31.2kg for females. At the age of 6 months, the weight of bulls is 178.9 kg, and that of cows is 169.2 kg. From weaning to 18 months old, under normal feeding and management conditions, the average daily weight gain is 500 grams. From the perspective of growth and development, the weight gain stops after 6 years old, and Sanhe cattle belongs to late-maturing varieties. Excellent performance Sanhe cattle has good milk production performance, with an average annual milk production of 4000 kg and a milk fat rate of over 4%. Under good feeding and management conditions, its milk yield will be significantly improved. The milk yield of No.8144 cow in Xiertala Breeding Farm in 1977 was 7702.5 kg in the fifth lactation period (305 days) and 8416.6 kg in 360 days, which was the highest per unit area yield of Hulunbeier Sanhe cattle. Sanhe cattle have good meat production performance. The slaughter rate of 2-3 year-old bulls is 50%-55%, and the net meat rate is 44%-48%. Geographical coordinates are 117 15 ′ 00 ″ east longitude ~ 124 02 ′ 00 ″ north latitude ~ 51 30 ′ 00 ″. Sanhe cattle is a geographical indication product of agricultural products.
