Kailu red dried pepper, a specialty of Kailu County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a symbol product of chinese national geography. Kailu County is the largest production base of dried red pepper in China. Kailu red dried pepper has thick skin, pure color, slender fruit and excellent quality. The products are sold to more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government in China, and exported to Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Russia and other countries. Kailu County, one of the ancient counties in Inner Mongolia, is rich in land resources, with flat and fertile soil. The soil quality is mainly white and five-flowered soil, with moderate organic matter content and sufficient light resources. The average annual sunshine hours are about 3,100 hours, and the annual precipitation is about 340 mm. Although the precipitation is small, 88.6% of it is concentrated in May to September when crops grow, which is the same season of rain and heat. Quality characteristics According to the Records of Kailu County, red dried pepper has been planted in Kailu for more than 30 years, and the planting scale is spread all over the county. It is a very distinctive agricultural product with thick skin, pure color, slender fruit and excellent quality. In addition to higher contents of vitamins, capsaicin and various nutrients than similar products produced in other regions, it also has a particularly strong spicy taste, which is called "spicy type". In 2001, "Sanlu" brand red dried pepper in Kailu County was rated as a national-level green brand-name product. The name of the red dried pepper produced was spread all over the world, and CCTV, People's Daily, Foreign Economic Herald and other media scrambled to broadcast it, becoming the largest production base of red dried pepper in China and enjoying the reputation of "the capital of red dried pepper in China". In 2007, Kailu red dried pepper was awarded the title of high-quality product in the autonomous region after being evaluated by experts, registered and obtained the national patent. In 2010, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine approved the implementation of geographical indication product protection for Kailu red dried pepper. The "High-yield Cultivation Techniques of Red Dried Pepper" promoted by Kailu Red Dried Pepper Association also won the first prize of the "Golden Bridge Project" in the autonomous region. Protection of Geographical Indications According to the Provisions on the Protection of Geographical Indications Products, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine organized a review of the application for the protection of geographical indications of Kailu red and dried peppers. After passing the examination, it was approved to protect the geographical indication products of Kailu red dried pepper from February 24, 2010. Scope of protection The scope of protection of geographical indication products of Kailu red dried pepper is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of Kailu County, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
