Horqin fat beef

Horqin district stands in the beautiful and rich Horqin prairie. Known as the "thoroughfare of seven provinces", it is one of the birthplaces of Mongolian culture and Hongshan Culture, and the hometown of Xiaozhuangwen. Since ancient times, Mongolians have been concentrated in nomadic areas, with a long tradition of grassland animal husbandry covering an area of about 450,000-600,000 square kilometers. It is located at 42 -45 degrees north latitude, with mild climate, abundant sunshine and rain, abundant aquatic plants and excellent pasture, and more than 1,600 kinds of plants grow, among which more than 900 kinds can be used as high-quality pasture. Horqin, Inner Mongolia is the most ideal natural pasture in China. Horqin grassland, known as the "hometown of yellow cattle", is the breeding base of Horqin cattle and Simmental cattle. Simmental cattle, which originated in Switzerland, has a short growth period, high meat yield and tender meat quality, and is the most ideal variety for beef processing. After 50 years of careful cultivation, Simmental cattle have been widely promoted and cultivated in Horqin grassland, forming a group of Simmental cattle in China, which provides a unique source of cattle for beef industrialization. There are five state-owned farms under the jurisdiction of Horqin District: Huli Seed Breeding Farm, Molimiao Sheep Farm, Zhenan Farm, Sanyitang Farm and Banbiandian Farm. Horqin grassland has a large area of natural pasture and nearly 20 million Horqin red cattle, Xing 'an fine-wool sheep and Mongolian cattle and sheep. The scope of protection of geographical indication products of Keerqin Fat Beef is subject to the scope proposed in the Letter on Applying for the Protection of Geographical Indication Products of Keerqin Fat Beef (Tong Zheng Han [2006] No.25) issued by Tongliao Municipal People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which includes 8 flags, counties and districts such as Kezuozhong Banner, Kezuohou Banner, Naiman Banner, Hure Banner, Zhalute Banner, Kailu County, Horqin District and Holingol City in Tongliao City of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Keerqin fat beef is a geographical indication protection product.
