Guyang paper-cutting

Guyang county has 103 paper-cutting workers, 3 "paper-cutting cultural complexes" and 1 folk art creation studio. The folk art creation studio is now composed of five professional teachers, and the folk art teaching and research group conducts scientific research and exploration on paper-cutting teaching materials, paper-cutting teaching plans and paper-cutting creation techniques, and undertakes the creative training of paper-cutting personnel in the county. Guyang Vocational High School offers the course of "Paper-cutting" in the major class of "Art Design". There are 3 classes of paper-cutting every week, including 1 class of theory and 2 classes of practical creation. Besides paper cutting, there are also six courses, including color, sketch, brief history, pattern, art theory and straw painting. Paper-cutting class adopts the method of combining theoretical teaching with practical counseling. In 2011, Xu Haifeng was specially invited as a paper-cutting practice tutor, and Cheng Fengpeng was a straw sculpture tutor. In the training of farmers and herdsmen, paper-cutting enthusiasts are invited to participate in paper-cutting creation activities in the form of "night school" and "six-day school".
