Shenchi Hu you

"Shenchi Hu you" refers to the edible oil squeezed by flax grown in Shenchi County, Shanxi Province. According to China Industrial Records Shanxi Volume, Shenchi Oil-pressing Industry started around 1488 (during the reign of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty). In Ma Shou Nong Yan, written by Qi Juanzao, the minister of the Tongzhi Military Department in the Qing Dynasty, there are records of "oil in a trance pool" and "fragrant in color and delicious in taste". At the end of Qing Dynasty, there were nearly 100 oil mills in the county. The unique and traditional Hu oil pressing technology keeps the natural quality of Shenchi Hu oil. The characteristics of Hu oil recorded in Shanxi Famous Specialty are: "It does not precipitate for a long time, raw food has no odor, fried food has little smoke, quick coloring and fragrant taste; The color is pure yellow and transparent, rich in nutrition and has medicinal value. " Modern medicine believes that eating for a long time can prevent and treat diseases such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis. "Shenchi Hu You" comes from Shenchi Hu Ma. According to Qi Min Yao Shu, "This should be planted in white land". That is, in the land without fertilizer, flax has the characteristics of short growth period, cold resistance and barren resistance, and likes low temperature, which is just suitable for the natural conditions of short frost-free period, barren land and cold and windy sand in Shenchi. The cultivation of flax in Shenchi began in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and it is one of the crops that local people depend on for survival. Therefore, there is a poem that says, "No matter whether it is a mountain field or a paddy field, flax and wheat beans are planted every year. Folk customs are simple and foolish, and flax and naked oats are fragrant all over the mountain. " In December, 2010, it was examined by the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and was confirmed as a protected product of national geographical indications. Scope of Origin The scope of protection of geographical indication products of Shenchi Huyou is the administrative area under the jurisdiction of nine townships in Shenchi County, Shanxi Province, namely Yijing Town, Bajiao Town, Donghu Township, Taipingzhuang Township, Hezhi Township, Hubei Township, Dayanbei Township, Changfan Township and Liebao Township. Shenchi Hu oil is a geographical indication protection product.
