Wanrong County is located in the Golden Triangle of the Yellow River in Yuncheng, Shanxi Province, with the highest elevation of more than 1,400 meters, and the apple producing area is 600-800 meters above sea level. It belongs to the Loess Plateau, with long sunshine, large temperature difference, rich mineral content in the soil and unique natural conditions for producing fruits. It is the best ecological zone in the most suitable cultivation zone for high-quality apples in the world. The county has a total area of 1,081 square kilometers, 1.02 million mu of cultivated land and a population of 430,000. In 2007, it was identified as the top 20 apple counties in China by China Fruit Circulation Association. In 2008, Nanzhang Township, Wangxian Township and Gaocun Township of our county were rated as "Top 100 Towns of China Quality Apple Production Base"; In December 2008, our county was awarded "Top Ten Pollution-free Counties of Fruits and Vegetables in China". In 2009, China International Fruit and Vegetable Exhibition, our county's "Gufengshan" brand apple was rated as "Chinese Famous Fruit".
