Lingshi County is located at the intersection of Taiyue Mountain and Lvliang Mountain in the middle of Shanxi Province, with rolling hills and ravines, mild climate and abundant wild nectar plants. The honey source of Vitex negundo is Vitex negundo. Vitex negundo is a barren and drought-tolerant plant, with more honey flowing. Honey contains glucose 32.9%, fructose 41.4%, acidity 2.13%, enzyme degree 17.9%, sugar content 0.27%, and more than 10 kinds of minerals, protein, amino acids, vitamins, inorganic acids, etc. It is not only an ideal nourishing food, but also can relieve cough and moisten the lungs, strengthen the stomach and relax the bowels, prevent heatstroke and clear the heart, and has the effects of tonifying the body, benefiting qi and prolonging life. It is an excellent heatstroke prevention drink in summer and has high edible and medicinal value. In 1982, in the honey standard issued by the Ministry, Lingshi Vitex negundo honey was listed as a first-class product. Lingshi Vitex negundo honey enjoys a long international reputation and is exported to Germany, Japan, Britain, France and other countries. It is a traditional export commodity in Lingshi County. Now, Lingshi County has established the first beekeeping association in Shanxi Province, and established an experimental bee farm. The number of bee colonies in the county has grown to more than 3,600, and it has achieved superior species production with an annual output of more than 130,000 kilograms of honey.
