Lingshi embroidery

Lingshi embroidery is very popular in rural Shanxi. Embroidery everywhere has its own unique forms: some are gorgeous and exquisite, some are solemn and clear, and some are simple and refined. There are three kinds of embroidery works, clothes, daily necessities and ceremony decorations. In traditional clothes, embroidery is usually used to decorate collars, sleeves, children's shoes, bibs and children's hats. In daily necessities, a typical embroidery work is a pillow, some of which are designed as two tiger heads, a face tiger head, a fishtail tiger head or a frog. Nowadays, embroidery is more widely used in cushions, insoles, wallets and tourist souvenirs. The embroidery works used in the ceremony mainly include hanging curtains and mourning clothes hanging on temples.
