Changzhi walnut

Walnut is one of the four famous dried fruits in the world. Planting economic trees in Changzhi has a long history. As early as the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period, walnuts were introduced from Asia Minor and began to be planted in pieces. Walnut kernel is a delicious food without protein and fat, and it can also be used to extract oil. The oil content of walnut kernel is generally around 70%, up to 80%, and it is called "the king of oil". Walnuts in Changzhi are mainly distributed in Pingshun and Licheng counties. Pingshun has a habit of planting walnuts for a long time. Walnut trees are spread all over the county, especially in Dongsitou, Hongtiguan, Xigou, Longzhen and other towns and the banks of Zhuozhang River. Its series of products are important export materials of the county. Walnut and pepper are the main dried fruits in Licheng, among which walnut has the largest output.
