Guangling tuba

Guangling tuba is a unique instrumental music of Guangling. The trumpet is like an upside-down urn, and the locals also call it the big urn. The traditional tuba is made of copper and weighs about 4 kilograms. At ordinary times, the tuba is sleeved in the tuba neck. When playing, the tuba is pulled to the tuba neck, and the tuba is 60 centimeters long. This tuba is a monophonic number, and it can only emit two tones, one up and one down, and can't play music cards. However, because of its deep and unique voice, lingering sound and long lasting charm, it can't be separated from weddings, funerals and the first month. In the past, there were many tuba players in drum music classes, and the guard of honor was very imposing. However, in recent years, song and dance performances have been added to drum music classes, and most drum music classes are only equipped with two tuba players. Although the performance team has expanded, traditional music tends to be marginalized. According to legend, Guangling tuba was made by Wei Xiangshu, a famous minister in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. During the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, Wei Xiangshu, a celebrity in Yuxian County, and Guang Ling Yi were officials in the same dynasty and made friends with each other. Later, when the Qing Dynasty entered the customs, Wei Xiangshu became a Qing Dynasty 1, and Yi Xiang retired to the south and returned to his hometown. When Yi Xiangnan's wife died, her family was poor and unable to organize the funeral, which coincided with Wei Xiangshu's return to his hometown. Seeing the embarrassment of his old friend, he made a similar large-sized one according to the shape and characteristics of the etiquette number used in the court at that time. The large-sized voice was deep and long, and he used many people to form a support team to bid farewell to the old friend's wife. Later, tuba became a unique folk sacrificial instrument in Guangling and adjacent Yuxian, which has been passed down to this day. At present, there are more than 100 people engaged in guangling tuba playing in the county, and most of them are middle-aged and elderly people. Playing this kind of instrumental music is a hard work. Generally, people quit the band when they are over 60 years old. In addition, artists can't support themselves by this skill alone, but they can also make a living by farming. Therefore, in recent years, tuba music has gradually declined, and it is urgent to protect this ancient music.
