Enamel ware

Enamel ware Enamel ware began in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty loved enamel ware very much and ordered enamel to be burned. In the fifty-eighth year of Kangxi (AD 1719), Chen Zhongxin, a French enamel painter and missionary, was invited to teach the enamel painting skills of Limoges in hall of mental cultivation. This snuff bottle was made by Jurentang, a famous kiln in the late Qing Dynasty, with a foreign maid on the front, and its color is gorgeous and luxurious. On the reverse side is the imperial poem.
